Football is Tough

Cuts, bruises, twisted ankles, headaches, and broken bones. Football is hard.

Let’s begin with the physical side of the game, I know—at least for me— that it is nearly impossible to leave a football practice or game without a mark. This past season we had practice every morning. I might not have noticed the bruise, hip pointer, or cut during practice, but after I showered and got dressed, the battle scars appeared, As a player, I know about the pain of the game.

Now we’ll hop on over to the mental side of the game. In football you have to be really smart. If you have ever seen a quarterbacks wristband, you’ll see how many plays are on the—tinee weeni—band. In some cases, you could have to memorize hundreds of different plays. For example, the offensive line is one of the toughest positions to play because there is so many moves that you have to memorize and think about with—not to mention— another 300 pounder trying to knock you on your butt. It’s tough to think and move at the same time, plus with an injury.

Sports are tough no matter what type. You will get injured and hurt! Trust me, be tough and fight the pain and in the end of it all, you will succeed.

Thoughts on the Super Bowl

I thought that this past Super Bowl was really excited- for Seahawks fans. I am not a Seahawks fan- I’m a die hard texans fan- but in this past Super Bowl I was cheering for the Seahawks. I loved the legion of booms play, (the Seahawks defense) most people like watching the offense play, but in this game, the Seahawks defense was super exciting to watch. It was amazing how they intercepted so many of MVP Peyton. Manning a passes, also they were hitting the Broncos receivers and running backs so hard that the ball was popping out of their hands like crazy!
The commercials were also- as always- great. I thought that the most hilarious commercial that I saw was the Bud Light commercial where the took some random guy had a girl go up to him and ask him if he takes a Bud Light, will HW be up for anything tonight. He says yes and he goes on an adventure of a night where at the end he beats Arnold Schwarzanager in a Ping pong sudden death match and ends up on stage with One Republic. Another commercial that I thought was the best overall was the Budweiser commercial where it shows a story of a little puppy who sneaks out and plays with a horse on the farm that they live on often. Then one day the puppy gets adopted and the adopter starts driving away when the horse jumps out of its ring and starts chasing after the car. The adopter stops the car and gives the puppy back and letting the horse and the puppy be- hence the name- best buds.

What Makes Me Happy

Stepping onto the football field makes me happy. I love the feeling of unity and brotherhood you get from being on a team. I love being under the lights and having the glare in my eyes. I find it exhilarating to play under the stars. When I run onto the field a smile creeps onto my face and spreads from ear to ear. When I look up at the score board and see us soaring above the competition, it just makes it a little sweeter. But there is on,y one thing that I don’t like… Man, the sound of that buzzer stinks. If only the game could last forever.

I am from…

I am from sports balls
From home-made pizza and music
I am from the red brick house with a feeling of unity inside of it
From the garden
I am from the creek whose water flowed after the long, hard, rains
From the bay house and crawfish boils
I am from Michael and Greg
From vacation and grandpa’s gym
I am from football
From “Come back” and “Go on”
I am from “tickets for the next ride”
From Houston and Mexico
I am from burgers and tacos
From the big bus that my grandma and her 9 other siblings rode in
I am from Old grandpas fishing poles under the deck that he loved
I am a small tree in a big forest
A forest where all trees take care of eachother

From the Snap to the Score

Toward my hands the ball comes
My eyes darting from receiver to receiver
All of the receivers are covered, making my mind spin
Stepping up in the pocket huge lineman around me
Boom!
My body tenses as the nose guard hits me from behind
My mind tells me that I’m going to fall, but that isn’t an answer
I put my hand down and balance myself and it works
I sprint across the line they call the line of scrimmage
Juking the linebacker and across the 50
I beat the safety and sprint into the end zone
My breaths short and heart pumping
I have scored a touchdown

Amazing Football Catch

Since it is football season right now, I was looking for an amazing football catch. I decided to look it up on You Tube and found this video. I think that this is one of the best catches of all time. How he forgets about everything and just dive backwards, catching the ball with one hand; not to mention having a defenseman on him. I thought that this video was definitely worth a spot on my blog.

Fantasy Football

Fantasy Football is one of my favorite things about NFL footballevery year. I love how I get to draft my own team, and see how my predictions for who is going to do good this year turn out. I love the excitement of watching your team and players get yardage, catch passes, make fieldgoals, and score touchdowns.

I  did my draft  a couple of days ago, and I feel pretty good about my team. I have a couple of players who are projected to get over 300 points, Cam Newton, Marshawn Lynch, and maybe some more. Reggie Bush did really good for me in week one, he got me around 25 points, and I expect him to get a lot more points in the next weeks. Cam Newton did pretty good also, I think that he got me a around 20 points.

I think my team is pretty good. How is yours?
